Resurface Privacy Policy
Resurface is built to help you save content privately and find its value later. This policy explains what information Resurface collects, how it is used, and what choices you have.
Information You Provide
Resurface collects information you choose to save or add to the app, including:
- URLs and source metadata.
- Shared text.
- Screenshots or images you share.
- Notes, triage choices, reminders, and library metadata.
- Feedback you deliberately submit, plus app version and the screen where you opened the feedback form.
- Text extracted from saved screenshots or images.
- Generated summaries, classifications, or other derived metadata.
- Generated written briefs and private audio narration of those briefs.
When you sign in with Apple, Google, X, or GitHub, Resurface may receive a provider account identifier and email address, depending on your provider settings and what the provider makes available.
How Resurface Uses Your Information
Resurface uses your information to:
- Provide your saved-content library.
- Sync and display saved items.
- Search your saved items.
- Process screenshots, text, and links.
- Generate summaries, extracted text, reminders, or other product features.
- Generate and play optional audio versions of saved briefs.
- Maintain account security and app reliability.
- Respond to support and privacy requests.
- Review feedback you deliberately submit and improve the product.
Resurface does not use your saved content for third-party advertising.
AI Processing
Resurface may use AI providers to process content you choose to save, such as extracting text from screenshots, generating summaries, or creating audio narration from finalized brief text. AI processing is used to provide product functionality.
Public X Content
When you save a public X URL, Resurface may send the public post identifier derived from that URL to X’s API to retrieve the post, article, author, and publication details needed to process and attribute the saved source. Resurface does not send your private notes, summaries, Briefs, screenshots, or Resurface account identifier to X for this lookup. X processes the request under its own terms and privacy policy.
Analytics And Diagnostics
Resurface does not send raw saved content to product analytics or observability tools.
If analytics, crash reporting, or performance monitoring are added in the production build, this privacy policy and App Store privacy labels must be updated before submission.
Sharing
Resurface does not sell your personal information.
Resurface may share information with service providers that operate the app, such as authentication, database, infrastructure, AI processing, and public-source retrieval providers. These providers are used to deliver Resurface functionality.
Resurface may disclose information if required by law, to protect users or the service, or in connection with a business transfer.
Your Choices
You can delete individual saved items in the app. You can also delete a saved brief and its generated audio without deleting the Library items used to create it. You can delete your account in Settings. Account deletion removes your account and user-owned library data from Resurface's backend. Some limited records may be retained where required for security, legal compliance, abuse prevention, or operational integrity.
Data Security
Resurface uses technical and organizational measures intended to protect user data. No system is perfectly secure, and Resurface cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
Resurface is not intended for children under 13.
Changes
Resurface may update this policy as the product changes. Material changes should be reflected on this page before they apply.
